Ideal opportunity for someone
who wishes to volunteer from their home. Volunteers must
have a working telephone and a good speaking voice. Volunteers
accept a minimum of two on-call assignments per month (most
shifts are for 12 hours). Training is provided.

Responsibilities
The American Red Cross is the
only organization authorized to transmit emergency messages
for military personnel and their families. Volunteers receive
requests for emergency communications, verify the situation
and transmit the message according to Red Cross regulations.
Volunteers also maintain accurate case records of emergency
communcations.
