Organization Mission
We believe in the healing power of companion pets and of the human/ animal bond which is so very important to life. Unfortunately, too many homeless and seriously needy individuals have pets that they aren't able to care for in the way they should; many would rather give up their own meal than give up their pet. Through feeding pets of the homeless, we will do our part to help reduce hunger in pets that belong to the homeless and the less fortunate, and also help to provide medical care for those pets in the Buffalo area.
Type of Volunteer Needed
Ages 12 and above. Volunteers must be able to lift 20-30 lb bags of dog food.
Volunteer Skills Needed
Volunteers must be able to scoop dog and cat food from large bags into ziploc bags; write dog or cat on the ziploc bags.
Volunteer Responsibilities

My company has become a collection site for pet food donations for Pets of the Homeless, and we are looking for a volunteer group(s) to help us package the food into daily portions that we then distribute to area shelters and soup kitchens. Typical volunteer groups will help us on a Saturday morning from 9:00am to 12:00, or 10:00am to 1:00pm. If you'd like more information on what we do, or would like to arrange a Saturday volunteer date, please give me a call at 839.5703.
