Meals on Wheels for WNY, the area’s largest meal-delivery agency, distributes 800,000 meals to homebound elderly and disabled WNYers each year.
Type of Volunteer Needed
Ages 18 and above.
Volunteer Skills Needed
Meal delivery takes only 60-70 minutes to complete. There are no special skills required, although a compassionate heart is a must. Individuals who wish to serve as drivers need a car and a valid NYS driver’s license.
Volunteer Responsibilities
Volunteers serve a warm midday meal and a cold supper each day at about 11 a.m. Meals on Wheels for WNY has 21 different delivery sites throughout the area, although there is an immediate need for volunteers in the City of Buffalo.
