Community Services is a non-profit agency providing services to people with developmental disabilities in Western New York. Our Mission is to provide or obtain services for people with developmental disabilities and their families in Western New York which will: assist in achieving their highest level of independent living; enable their fullest participation in society; ensure that their civil and human rights are protected; promote their ability to be productive, contributing members of society.
Type of Volunteer Needed
Men and women age 18 years or older.
Volunteer Skills Needed
Volunteers need to have a high school diploma or a GED, and an interest in the human services field. Community Services will provide training.
Volunteer Responsibilities
Volunteers will be working with Project COACH (community outreach and crisis hotline). Duties will include providing outreach and assistance to people and their families through information/referral, counseling, and advocacy. Providing crisis intervention via telephone and assisting callers in contacting after hours emergency assitance. Duties vary day by day.
