How This Works

The Volunteer Buffalo web site is designed for volunteers as well as for those organizations that need them. It will utilize web-based technology to match the skills and interests of individuals to volunteer opportunities near them.

This resource is presently in developmental mode. Phase I will involve collecting information from local organizations that are or will be in need of volunteers. Our aim is to register a very diverse range of organizations, both public and private. We are slowly entering data into our database and designing a page for each organization.

The format for listings of organizations will depend on the scope of their needs. All listings will include organizational goals and/or mission statements. Certain listings will include images and some may include slide shows.

Listings will be grouped according to category, (such as medical, social, cultural, etc.), location and by the type of skills needed. This will enable volunteers to easily find appropriate opportunities.

If you are an organization in need of volunteers please register with us by filling out the contact form (link is below).

Phase II of this project will involve publicizing this web site through the media. You can help by spreading the word via your organization's newsletter. Those organizations that register will receive regular e-mail updates pertaining to the project's progress.

Please inform us of any web site issues or suggestions. Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
